In Cambodia, 35% of the population is living in poverty, of which 45% are 19 years old or younger. Recently, the pandemic has highlighted existing inequalities and it was found that 84% of households have been struggling to pay for household items as a result of COVID-19.
Our second strategic goal sets out to support social protection that is child and gender-sensitive and shock responsive.
For this, we will:
- Support households to increase their expenditure on children’s needs
- Support children and households with child sensitive cash and voucher assistance
- Support vulnerable households strengthened their livelihoods and diversify them to greener alternatives
- Support changes in national/subnational government policies and plans to ensure that there is an increase investment in children’s survival, learning and protection
