Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19): How Save the Children in Cambodia respond for COVID-19

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases, such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-Cov) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). The novel coronavirus (short: “2019-nCOV”) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans. The virus has spread to many countries around the world, including Cambodia. Children are therefore vulnerable to the disease outbreak. Under the Ministry of Health Phase Categorization, Cambodia is listed under scenario B. This means the country has at least 91 confirmed cases, which is considered isolated and imported.

Save the Children is implementing the USAID funded Breakthrough Action project in coordination with UNICEF, WHO and others on risk communication and community engagement for Covid-19. Together, we are producing series of information, education and communication materials, some of which you can find below.
