National Protocols on Clinical Safe Motherhood

Over the last ten years, the Cambodia Demographic Health Survey has shown a steady decrease in maternal mortality, from 472 per 100,000 live births in 2005 to 170 in 2014. Save the Children’s three target villages recognized as open defecation free communities

To be recognized as Open Defecation Free, a village needs to have full sanitation coverage, meaning that at least 85% of the households have access to its own improved latrine and 15% have access to shared latrines.
